The free assessment is designed to provide a comprehensive portrait of your child’s knowledge. It is used to identify any gaps in their learning and pinpoint their existing strengths, giving us a clear view of their year-level proficiency in key Maths and English strands.

The assessment can take anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes and is conducted by a fully qualified teacher. Your child will be assessed on English, Maths, or both, depending on their specific needs. We use a combination of computer-based and written tasks to ensure a comprehensive evaluation.

Following the assessment, you will have the opportunity to speak directly with the teacher to discuss the results. This valuable data then allows us to design a fully individualised learning programme tailored specifically for your child.

Following your child's free assessment, the next steps are clear and tailored to your family:

  • Needs-Based Recommendation: Tutoring is only recommended if the assessment clearly identifies areas where your child would benefit from additional support.
  • Customised Learning Plan: We create a bespoke learning programme designed exclusively to meet your child's identified strengths and areas for growth.
  • Collaborative Goal Setting: Specific academic goals are established and mutually agreed upon between you (the parent/guardian) and the Pace Tuition teacher.
  • Scheduling: Weekly tuition sessions are arranged at a time that is most convenient for your family.
  • Focused Learning: Each tuition session is dedicated to one subject only, ensuring maximum focus and depth of learning.
  • Flexible Enrolment: Our enrolment is simple and straightforward, offering flexible lesson bundles to suit your schedule and budget.

It's challenging to give a definitive answer, as all children progress at their own unique rate. The duration of tutoring depends entirely on your child's specific starting point, their goals, and the consistency of their attendance.

You can discuss this in more detail with your Pace Tuition tutor during your regular feedback sessions.

  • Individual Progress: We cannot determine an exact timeframe, as progress is highly individualised.
  • Benchmarking: We do use basic progress benchmarks to provide general estimations and track performance against expected milestones.
  • The Best Method: The most reliable factor in achieving quick and lasting results is consistent, high-quality tuition combined with a supportive home learning environment.

We aim to make your child an independent and confident learner as quickly and effectively as possible.

We ensure you are kept informed of your child's advancement through multiple channels:

  • Progressive Programme:The Pace Tuition study programme is carefully structured and progressive. Your child begins at a foundational level and steadily works towards achieving the agreed-upon goals.
  • Weekly Building Blocks:Each weekly lesson plan contains new activities that explicitly build upon the knowledge and skills learned in the previous session, guaranteeing continuous development.
  • Regular Debriefs:You will have the opportunity to regularly debrief with the teacher immediately following the lesson, allowing you to hear direct feedback on your child's performance and achievements in that session.

Formal reassessments are conducted strategically:

  • Best Practice Timing:We aim to conduct a full reassessment after a minimum of six months, aligning with academic recommendations for establishing significant, measurable progress.
  • Goal Attainment:We also reassess students when they have potentially reached the goals set out in their individualised learning plan.

Absolutely. Our small group model (typically a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio) is specifically designed for maximum progress by combining the benefits of individual attention with productive independent practice.

This is how we ensure consistent advancement:

  • Individualised Instruction: Within the small group setting, your child receives dedicated one-on-one time with the qualified teacher. This is when tailored instruction and real-time feedback address their specific learning needs.
  • Knowledge Application: Following instruction, students are given independent tasks that allow them to immediately apply their new knowledge to solidify their understanding.
  • Immediate Support: The tutor continuously monitors every student's work, allowing them to see precisely what is being completed and step in immediately to assist, correct, or challenge them exactly when needed.

This hybrid approach ensures every child is monitored, supported, and confident in their learning before moving on to the next concept.

At Pace Tuition, homework is viewed as a supportive tool for consolidating progress, not as extra pressure.

  • Purpose:Homework is an important part of the learning programme, providing your child with the opportunity to practise and solidify the specific knowledge and skills they gained during their tuition session.
  • Tailored Tasks:We guarantee that your child is never assigned homework on topics they have not yet covered with their tutor, and tasks will never be overly difficult or overwhelming.
  • Reinforcement:Homework is designed purely to reinforce learning and build confidence by allowing them to successfully apply concepts in a low-pressure setting at home.

This approach ensures that homework always supports, rather than hinders, your child's individual learning journey

Yes, we certainly can help! At Pace Tuition, our approach is designed to be proactive and empowering, focusing on building the core knowledge your child needs to succeed independently

We understand that circumstances change. Should you need to withdraw your child from Pace Tuition, the process is straightforward:

  1. Written Notification:Please inform us of your decision to withdraw your child from tutoring.
  2. Notice Period:Your enrolment terms require two weeks' notice for any cancellation of a lesson bundle.
  3. Final Sessions:Lessons will continue for the duration of the two-week notice period to ensure your child completes the final sessions in their current bundle.
  4. Bundle Finalisation and Financial Adjustment:If you do not complete the remainder of your lesson bundle, the pricing will be adjusted to the rate of the closest completed bundle size below the number of lessons attended (e.g., 15 lessons attended reverts to the 12-lesson bundle price). You will then be charged the difference between the initial discounted rate and this revised bundle price for the lessons already attended.

To confirm your child's place and simplify your regular payments, we operate a flexible, pay-as-you-go system:

  • Payment Method:All payments are processed automatically on a weekly basis using a credit or debit card.
  • Deposit Requirement:A two-week deposit is required upon enrolment to confirm and secure your child's place in the timetable.
  • Deposit Usage:This deposit is held and covers the cost of your child's final two weeks of tuition once you provide your two weeks' notice of withdrawal.
  • Secure System:All payments are handled securely through our online payment portal.

Due to the commitment to securing your child's specific time slot with
their specialist tutor, missed lessons are fully chargeable.

However, we are dedicated to ensuring your child's progress continues:

  • Learning Continuity: We will always provide a comprehensive set of
tailored homework or lesson activities that can be completed at home.
  • Consolidation: This ensures your child stays current with their individual learning plan, allowing them to consolidate the knowledge they would have covered in the session.

This policy guarantees their dedicated time slot remains reserved and
prioritises the continuity of their learning journey.
